@maisiewilliams If I am developer(in a sense, I, also creative), daisie will be useful for me or it's only for designers, actors etc.

At Daisie, we're building a platform where creators can share original content, learn and discover, being inspired start new conversations and make ideas happen. We’re introducing creators from around the world, to bring new, raw ideas to life, and reignite the spark on old projects. Enabling users to explore creative work in film, fashion, music, photography, art, and literature, interacting directly with the inspirational people breaking grounds at the top of these creative industries. Daisie was put together by a team of 6: Dom, Maisie, Tim, Reuben, Dominique and Valentina - A small, but hugely passionate group of people who genuinely care about the future of creatives. We worked hard to create a product that we hope a lot of people will really care about, and adopt into their everyday lives. As of today, August 1st, Daisie is available worldwide on the App Store. The core of Daisie is in the hands of the people that use it, the content that’s being uploaded, connections made, the feedback given, experience shared, work created - Our community is fundamental to the future of the app, as well as the present. We're so excited to facilitate the future of creative collaboration. Come work with us, we're hiring :) https://angel.co/daisie-1/jobs

@maisiewilliams Hey Maisie! Is there an invite code for PH that we can use to get in the app? Would love to check this out!
Amrith Shanbhag
@maisiewilliams Thank you for sharing with the community! Daisie looks really promising πŸ˜„ What's your vision for the company on the longer run? Where do you see it in the next 5 years?
Allister Geonanga
@maisiewilliams Hi Maisie! That is so awesome! As a creative, and as an elementary educator in Canada I can see this being brought into the educational technology world! I think is a great solution for aspiring creative individuals. My students are super creative and I am wondering if this is applicable to students/classrooms as well to give students opportunities in the future? Thanks!

@maisiewilliams Hello! How does the search work? Is there any geographical feature? Thank you !
Matt Gardner
@maisiewilliams @benmlevy Second this! Line skip is appreciated, have watched the hype build on instagram this week and interested to try it out.
Max Sinclair
@maisiewilliams Congrats on a really exciting idea! Creating video content is a bit of a side hustle for me and i'm not properly in the industry but feel like this could give me the chance to dabble and see where I get with showing off what I create to the community!
Milan vd Bovenkamp β™
@maisiewilliams Interesting. I see a whole generation of creators bummed by Tumblr, going here...
Suzanne Xie
@maisiewilliams Love that you and the team are building a place for creators to share their work and collaborate with each other. Building a daisie chain! 🌼 Are you thinking about giving creators access to tools on the platform?
Maisie Williams

@benmlevy Hey Ben! We'll be providing invite codes for PH super soon. Check back just before the weekend πŸ™Œ

@maisiewilliams Just applied!

@maisiewilliams Just a heads up, the social media links in the store do not work. Seems like a great product otherwise though!

@maisiewilliams Hey Maisie! This app looks exciting. I can't wait to see it in action. Any chance an Android version is coming out soon?

Daisie is a career focused platform that aims to help more people break into the creative industries. They're addressing a real need for creators – the struggle to make reasonable/regular income and finding people to collaborate with – through a community approach that showcases what they're doing. It's like a mix of LinkedIn/IMDB and GitHub for the creator community. Dom and Maisie are two of the most impressive young people that I've met, with deep knowledge of the struggle that creators face. Excited for them to go after this problem and build this platform for creators. P.S. They're hiring designers and developers πŸ˜‰ https://angel.co/daisie-1

@maisiewilliams question for you! What do you like most about being a founder, compared to working on Game of Thrones/acting? Not many people are willing to try new things like that when they're at the top of their profession. πŸ‘
Tom Higgins
@maisiewilliams Good work. Two questions: Is a web version coming? Do you risk a fake account problem where people make chains with spam-bots in order to boost their status?
Maisie Williams
Maker
@tomhiggins Hey Tom! Web Version: Yes. Before the end of the year! It will be especially important as we work towards bringing collaborative tools to creatives. We don't think the bot thing will be too much of an issue, other users will, of course, be able to see the level of work and the shared projects that have been collaborated on - So chain won't be the only distinguishable factor! Thanks for your questions 🌼

@nivo0o0 Being an actor, you usually play a part in someone else's creation. Being a founder, you get to call the shots. Myself and @domsantry really balance each other out well on the co-founding front. I've already achieved more in my 21 years than I thought I could achieve in a lifetime, I've always felt a real responsibility to use my platform to speak out about injustice. Now that Game of Thrones has drawn to a close, I have the opportunity to not only speak out about injustice but also dedicate my time to solve a problem that I've always been aware of. I'm not from a place where wild opportunities (like the one I was so lucky to get) come around that often. There is so much talent that exists in my generation, and the generation's before and after, that currently goes unnoticed due to the lack of opportunities from people at gilded gates. This is a step in an entirely new direction for me career-wise but in terms of the girl I am and the things I stand for, this couldn't be a more logical step for me to take.
Tom Higgins
@maisiewilliams Glad to hear it! It sounds like you and your co-founders have very ambitious plans for this. Very exciting. Congrats on #2 Product of the Day! Quite an achievement. Do you guys have a donations link or anything of that sort?
Ryan Hoover
Big fan of platforms and tools to support creators and makers. Daisie's mission aligns a lot with my brother's progression as a self-taught videographer. He now works in the field but something like this could have been very helpful in connecting him with others and supporting his journey. What type of artists and creators do you expect to see on the platform, @maisiewilliams / @domsantry?
Maisie Williams
Maker
@rrhoover Hey Ryan! We're expecting to see a range of creators, from numerous industries. Naturally, the functionality of collaboration will be more facilitating towards those that aren't creating content at a professional level, as we imagine creators using daisie for projects that have been locked away or that need a little creative boost; rather than for monetary reasons. We're also being slightly selective about how quickly we let users onto the app, so as to protect the quality of work that we've already seen & ensure that new members know how and why to use daisie. 🌼
Rulian Estivalletti
Are there incentives for art consumers (rather than producers) to be on the app.
Maisie Williams
Maker
@rockstarcode Hey Rulian! Absolutely πŸ™ŒWe're making a point to show the transparency of shared projects, from original concept through to finished product. We think this will be a very revealing and interesting process for consumers to witness, and potentially take part in. It will also ensure that producers receive feedback throughout the creative journey, not just at the end! Thanks for taking the time to ask a question! 🌼
Rulian Estivalletti
@maisiewilliams Awesome, good luck with the launch!
Jake Mor
@maisiewilliams @domsantry Love the waitlist, it's the perfect tool to help companies overcome the chicken and egg problem. I would take it a step further and implement a referral program that lets you cut ahead if you refer friends. We did that at MajorityRules and it worked out well β€” we managed to hit 15 in trivia before we even launched. As for the concept β€” what is the exact problem you're solving for? What are the benefits of using this over Instagram or YouTube, platforms that almost every serious creator already has an account on?
Maisie Williams
Maker
@jakemor Hi Jake! Thanks for the support & questions! We have a campaign launching on Saturday to do just that. Similar to the daisie100 which we launched a month ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiNZuYHLHzs&t=19s Submitters to the campaign will cut ahead, even more so if they invite friends. We'll choose 180 of the best to skip the queue and head straight onto the app! Concept wise, we're really focusing on building relationships between users and inspiring them to create shared projects, and collaborate on ideas from concept stage all the way through to final delivery. We feel like existing platforms focus on the individual, rather than the team.
Jake Mor
@maisiewilliams sounds great, can't wait to see what you and the team come up with. Feel free to reach out regarding referral campaign, we'd be happy to share what worked best for us. We saw referrals spike with even the slightest change in language. Here's a great blog post in general, all though I'm sure you all have done your research: https://kickofflabs.com/blog/how-to-setup-a-viral-waiting-list-launch-page-like-robinhood-with-kickofflabs/ I also can't stress enough the importance of establishing a "sharable link" that not only links to the app store listing, but also gives referral credit to the sharer without the friend having to input a referral code β€” kind of annoying to implement on iOS and Android but well worth the extra dev time. Even the slightest drop off in conversion rates are compounded significantly. Best of luck!
Tarun Gangwani
Great idea and great name! What does success look like for this platform?
dom
Maker
@tarungangwani I'll let @maisiewilliams crack on with this one, she tells it best
Maisie Williams
Maker
@tarungangwani @domsantry If we can inspire a generation of creative people to see a career within the creative arts as not just a pipe dream but something that is achievable and right at your finger tips, we'll be off to a good start. Success would be daisie becoming the home for creative collaboration. We have a vision where this can exist along side the current system and provide a platform for undiscovered talent, but we can also see it becoming it's own pool of independent creators who are working with each other, seeking each other out, and collaborate on their own homegrown shared projects.

Love this! Having chains and not followers is awesome - will instantly stop it from being a popularity contest! Hope you guys smash it!!!

@diddleyays Thanks Zak! That's the goal πŸ‘ What a great prospect to enable a platform entirely built on naturally ascertained connections ⭐️

Hello Maisie, how well do you think this will succeed and how so? I love the idea of it and I’m definitely going to use the app! Also was is hard to get this all together? Bet it’s exciting now it’s released!
Jamie McIntyre
Immediately followed @maisiewilliams, then watched her throw shade on followers in her new app. Looking forward to giving it a try! (still following)
Sam Sexton
This looks great! I A lot of us creators generally find it difficult to find a community and tbh, it sucks! If Daisie can turn my two-bit side project into something bigger, lucrative even, then i'm all for it! Hoping to see an Android version at some point.

@samsexton As Maisie has said below, Android is very much in the road map!
Micaela Dawn
Absolutely thrilled to have another place to collaborate with other creative individuals. I've been a part of several really inspiring facebook groups for women in illustration and comics, but it can be exceptionally hard to actually collaborate and gain critique with others on the FB platform. Thank you all for making this! Have there been any projects you've seen come out from your daisie 100 that have really inspired you? Are there projects you've been able to work on that you never expected to enjoy before building this app and collaborating with others?
Maisie Williams
Maker
@dawnmicaela Amazing, Micaela! Thank you so much for reaching out. I completely agree with the first point, and have never felt completely comfortable sharing work specific content exclusively on a single social platform. The daisie100 was an incredible experience, for everyone at daisie. Seeing creators feel so liberated by the process, that they visited London for the first time (some had never been on a plane before) - in order to make it to our meetup and share their stories with the rest of the community. We are seeing incredible projects begin to be built and are expecting more and more to be made as we invite new creators to sign-up. Really looking forward to seeing you on daisie, please reach out when you get an account! My username is @maisie 😁
Micaela Dawn
@maisiewilliams Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I'm thrilled to hear that other artists found liberation in a creator-focused app. I can't wait to try it out, and connect with other creatives. Thank you all for making daisie! Cheers!
Zac Huddart
This sounds very interesting, when will this be coming to android?
Maisie Williams

@zachuddart Hey Zac! We're hoping to be up and running on android before the end of the year.

Hi @maisiewilliams! Congrats on the launch! Obligatory question: is the Android app on your road map for the near future? As a young and creative person, excited to try the app, but sadly don't have an iPhone.

@kyrylo Hey Kyrylo. Yes Android and Web are both in our roadmap. Keep your eyes peeled πŸ‘€
Kyrylo Taranenko
@maisiewilliams great to hear it. Keep up the good work! Wonder if it is exciting for you to launch the app on ProductHunt for the first time? I've recently launched an app too, wonderful experience!

Love the idea! Would daisie be a place for written content creators or is it more focused towards art/design/photography/videography?

kevin jonas
@maisiewilliams how have you enjoyed jumping into the tech scene and what lead to the creation of the daisie product?
Maisie Williams
Maker
@kevinjonas Hey Kevin! It's been quite surreal. The tech scene is very different from the movie industry; though I do see similarities between the actual creation of a film and an app! @domsantry brought the concept of daisie to me about 2 years ago. His desire to change the archaic system put in place resonated with an issue i'd always had with industry access; being someone who was slingshot to the top due to a combination of luck & good timing. To put the power back into the hands of creators by enabling collaboration & therefore establishing a genuine 'route' into the industry is one of the most important goals for daisie.
Nick Frost
@kevinjonas @domsantry @maisiewilliams I think an interesting point that you've both addressed in your app and in the video, is the point that the follower network is broken. It's great to hear you acknowledge that and to recognize that other models exist. Being focused on 2-way communication is key within the creative industry and I'm looking forward giving Daisie a try and sharing it with all of my creative friends. Congrats on launching your product! Now the work begins ;)
Kendall Hope Tucker
Hi Dom, Maisie and Tim! This looks exciting. Have you heard of Seed&Spark? Think it could be a great partnership for video creators to find collaborators and then get funding if they need it. https://www.producthunt.com/posts/seed-spark
