Hey, I'm Jonathan! I've been working on this product for the past few months and thrilled to share it here :) We now have a few startups and individuals using de-sks, but we're still very new and I'd love any feedback or questions! :)

Duuude the website really shows this off. You gotta make a video to show people what it does. The stand alone pictures here don't do it justice!
Federico Jorge
@nickchuckwalter agreed! This launch needs a GIF or a video. The website could also have a section where you can play around and arrange your own desk for fun. The idea is great!

@nickchuckwalter Thanks Nick! πŸ˜„Yeaaaa agree, video is on the todo list πŸ˜›

@jfren I'm sure there's a ton to do. Best of luck! Awesome product
Sebastian Marshall
@nickchuckwalter Seconded! It looks super cool when you dive in deeper.

Great solution for co-working spaces and offices! Also, I very like the stand for a monitor as an option. Good luck with sales!

Neat idea - I'm actually just looking at replacing the desk I've had for 20 years, which is a 3 part modular U-shape thing. It's big and cumbersome, and every time I move I have to find a place it fits in, or use half a desk, or something. That being said... my first thought when I look at your site is, "Those pieces do not look flush"

@rossdcurrie Thanks πŸ˜„heheh, I know first-hand what that's like. Yeaaa - mentioned this in another comment below - but this has been & is a big feedback point. We've managed to massively reduce the issue of the gaps and levelling since our first versions [and the one that the site photography is based on] by tongue-and-grooving and improving our fixing system. But we're also looking at mitigating it by adding the option of wider slats of wood [ie 60cm+ wide] in the area[s] where one would mostly use paper/mice. We're also looking at potentially some form of blotter pad.

Impressive, could be my next desk!

@francescod_ales Awesome! πŸ˜„

Great job!!😊 Does this ship all over the world?
Jonathan Fren
Maker
@ayush_chandra Hey Ayush, thanks!! πŸ˜„EU, US and Canadian shipping is currently our standard (and included in the cost), but we can fulfil custom orders to other countries on request [and with extra shipping fees].
Joshua Pinter
This is really cool! But I can't stand the gaps between each board. I'd rather have one solid piece of walnut or something and sacrifice the modularity.

These super cool! I like the website design first and fore most, but the product looks very adaptable and useful.

@jason_turnquist Aww thanks Jason! πŸ˜„
Eek Snider
It says affordable on the website, is this a joke?
Jonathan Fren
Maker
@kucukkanat Hey Eek! Our main target audience is companies / co-working spaces (ie more banks of desks than individual desks -- and that's where my background & experience lies) - and in that area we're pretty competitive / verging on cheap compared to competing desk systems. I'm told even for single desks our pricing is competitive, but I guess that's very relative -- it's certainly probably more than Ikea, but less than most designer desks πŸ˜„
Eric Gossart
Nice job guy, even though a short video would be even nicer ;)
Anthony Da Mota
That's an awesome idea. Is this an idea from you, or this is something that already exist? As I never saw a desk like this. Also, I'm noticing that's plywood; which is quite expensive even if it has a lot of advantages. Do you plan on making something more affordable for people - not companies? Thanks!
Jonathan Fren
Maker
@akdm_ Thanks Anthony! πŸ˜„ I had the idea after furnishing my co-working space and designing my own desks there, it's been lingering in my head for a few years. Current focus is very much on companies; I think even outside pricing our biggest USP's lay there... but who knows, it's still very young and getting lots of great feedback that's taking me in different directions. I'll follow where the need is! Defo want to look at different material options though.
Anthony Da Mota
@jfren Congrats on the idea then! Thanks for replying :)
Jake Disraeli
Love this. So hard to stand out in such a crowded furniture space, but this approach is the perfect blend of simplicity and novelty. Will definitely be using de-sk for my next desk purchase.

@jakediz Thanks Jake! πŸ˜„
Fabio Frignani
Nice concept! Are you planning to add a standing desk version?
Jonathan Fren
Maker
@frigno Thanks! It's something we're looking at yea :) We currently have a standing height option, which some people combine next to a sitting de-sk; but not sit/stand up/down right now..
Bertrand Gorge
Very nice idea. It could be nice to add more options for meeting tables (hdmi, ethernet, stuff like that)....

@bertrand_gorge COOL
Jonathan Fren
Maker
@bertrand_gorge Thanks πŸ˜„ Agreed! We have a few things like this and lots of other slat options in the pipeline; just tried to keep the options relatively simple for launch.

GREAT
