Welcome, @dparrelli! Recruiting/job boards have been around for an eternity and there's heavy competition (because it's so lucrative). But you've narrowed your focus on remote working which is an interesting product and marketing strategy. How did you come up with the idea and has it changed since inception?
David Parrelli
Thanks @rrhoover. Well the idea was sparked after speaking to people within our industry and realizing that this is quickly becoming a growing trend, with more and more people wanting to work remotely to fulfil a work/life balance - whether that means working in their own space to spend more time with family, or to fulfil their own personal ambitions (eg. work and travel around the world). I think this product will constantly evolve as more people adopt it. We only just launched but we've already received some great feedback from our early adopters, and it's quite clear that there's a need for such a niche product that helps connect employers with the 'right' resources that aren't restricted by geographical location.

Makes a lot of sense, @dparrelli. More companies are open to and equipped for remote employees. It seems to only grow in popularity and acceptance (with exception to Yahoo, perhaps). Which side of the market has been more difficult to attract (workers vs. hirers)?
David Parrelli
Exactly - especially now that our industry is so collaborative. Right now it’s more difficult to attract employers, which is understandable. I’ve noticed that there are a lot of skilled resources out there that are excited about the prospect of working remotely, but just don’t know how to go about finding remote work. I’m hoping in the new year we see a surge in job postings, when employers are more inclined to commence hiring again.

That's somewhat surprising to me. Companies are thirsty for technical talent (which seems to be a large portion of your audience) so I would expect that side of the market to be easier to find and grow. How are you planning to capture their attention, @dparrelli?
David Parrelli
Funny you mention that because I was expecting the same when we first launched. I think as our product is more widely publicized companies will definitely be onboard. Once someone sees the value in a product and how that product can make their life better, it’s hard to say no to it. Right now we’ve been reaching out to companies that we know work remotely and getting them onboard as early adopters. We’ve also been using a tool called (awesome tool btw!) to immediately connect with those talking about working remotely around the web. We also plan to partner with startup groups to gain further exposure. But most importantly our main focus is to be very personal and let our users know we’re there for them. If we can nurture our current clients well, more will come through word of mouth. If you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them!
